Case study · Global AI video-editing app

A global AI video-editing app came back from a Naver penalty, hit #1 in one day and grew daily views about 8x.

Client

A global software company with an AI video-editing app, running an official Korean blog on Naver.

The problem

The company's own team had run its Korean Naver blog until Naver's low-quality filter hit it. After that, its posts stopped showing in Korean search results, so the brand was invisible to Korean creators looking for video tools.

What I did

  • Took over the blog in April 2025 and rebuilt it from scratch.
  • Researched what Korean creators actually search when they need to do a video task, for example how to start a YouTube channel for older viewers or how to extract audio from YouTube.
  • Wrote native Korean posts that answer each question step by step and show the app as the tool that does the job, so they read as a guide, not an ad.
  • Built each post around a group of related queries, so one post can rank for several searches.

Results

  • #1 in Naver blog results for three queries, one day after publishing: three how-to searches about starting a YouTube channel for older viewers (November 2025).
  • Daily views up about 8x in five days, December 2025: 42 → 46 → 116 → 273 → 197 → 333.
  • 95% of visits from Naver search (47.7% PC, 47.7% mobile) and 0 from blog neighbors. The growth came from search demand, not from a follower network.
  • Top entry queries were how-to searches, such as extracting audio from YouTube, downloading songs and making music with AI.

Why it worked

Naver ranks blog posts that answer a specific Korean query in natural Korean. A translated product page does not. The posts were built around real Korean search phrases, so the app showed up where Korean users were already looking.
