Case study · Food truck caterer, Korea

A Korean food truck caterer reached #1 on Naver within a day of publishing and won a 200-portion order from a customer who trusted its blog most.

Client

A food truck and event catering business in Korea, selling to schools, companies and public events.

The problem

Event planners in Korea search Naver for food truck rental prices before they call anyone. Larger food truck companies already held those searches with established blogs, and the client's blog was not showing up next to them.

What I did

  • Mapped about 30 competing food truck blogs and the searches they ranked for.
  • Built a keyword list across the client's menu and event types, from snack trucks to corporate catering.
  • Wrote posts on the client's own Naver blog that answer what planners ask first: what renting a food truck costs and what is included.
  • Used the searches that brought visitors in to plan the client's Naver search ads.

Results

  • #1 in Naver's popular posts the day after publishing, for a food truck rental search, ahead of the larger competitors.
  • #1 again for a snack truck price search, also one day after publishing (March 2025).
  • Daily blog views up from under 25 to 90 within two weeks in February 2025, and 168 on a single day in May 2025.
  • More phone inquiries. "Inquiry calls are going up," the owner wrote in March 2025. In one three-day stretch, calls came in from an elementary school, a daycare center and a rental client.
  • A 200-portion order from the blog. The customer told the owner the blog was "the most trustworthy of all the blog posts". (translated from Korean)

Why it worked

Event planners compare prices before they compare menus. Posts that answered the price question clearly, written for the exact searches planners use, put a small business ahead of bigger competitors at the moment the planner was ready to call.
