Case study · B2B recruiting agency, foreign-run

A foreign-run teacher recruiting agency reached #1 on Naver with a new blog and search ads, and gained 3 to 4 new partner schools in a week.

Client

A recruiting agency in Korea, run by a foreign founder, that places native English teachers at Korean language schools. Its buyers are Korean school owners.

The problem

The agency's customers are Korean academy owners, and they look for recruiting partners on Naver, in Korean. The founder needed Korean content that speaks to those owners, and the agency had no Naver presence yet.

What I did

  • Started a Korean Naver blog for the agency and wrote posts from the school owner's side: how to choose a recruiting agency, and what to do when hiring native teachers is hard.
  • Researched the phrases academy owners use when they look for native teacher recruiting and hiring help.
  • Set up and ran Naver search ads on a small budget alongside the blog.

Results

  • #1 in Naver's Language popular posts for a native teacher recruiting search, eight hours after publishing (2024).
  • Top 2 for a native teacher hiring search the day after publishing.
  • 3 to 4 new partner schools in one week. The agency ran no other marketing at the time, so the blog and search ads were the only new channels. The founder: "I got 3-4 new schools on the site in the past week. I am sure a few new schools have come from this work." He asked to keep the work going long term.

Why it worked

B2B buyers in Korea research on Naver too. Writing from the buyer's side, the academy owner, in natural Korean put the agency in front of the people who sign the contracts.
